I installed a new AJEracing K member (which did not impress me with the quality), and it moved the steering shaft into the side of the header tube. I have read all the past posts for this condition and it mentioned loosening the steering column and moving it over, but it did not say what mounting points were loosened. Looking under the dash I see a lower mount that attaches with a bolt on each side but when I loosened them and tried to move the column it did not move (no slots). Are the bolts under the lower dash cover? I have manual steering rack and the OEM rag joint and an aftermarket shaft which is bigger in diameter at the top (my spare if needed) which is where it is hitting. The rag joint is also about 1/2" too short to reach the manual rack spines, but I forced it onto the shaft but I don't like the looks of the stretched rubber coupler. I have since added washers under the rag joint to relieve the stress but the top joint is still hitting the header. Any ideas how to fix this w/o a new shaft?
