Anyone else have a TR3550 or 500, or 600 installed in a fox body, mine is a 93 and I just swapped over from a T5. I also purchased a B&M ripper shifter for it. Everything is working mechanically but my shifter seems way over to the right side of the console. When I installed the shifter it was hard to get to two of the right side mounting bolts, but the left side was perfectly clear. It just seems like it is not centered in the tunnel. However the crossmember fits fine? The big hump is on the passenger side. Since the B&M shifter is a one piece design and does not have the offset that most bolt on handle shifters have, is that why it seems so far to the right? I may try the factory shifter back on it. The Trans is a NOS TR3550 that had 0 miles on it.

Getting a MGW shifter will help out. They have more adjustability than other aftermarket shifters.

I have the same problem (same tranny TR3550) but with a Pro 5.0 shifter. It is very uncomfortable to shift and I have thought about installing the stock style shifter. Anyone know if this is common on these transmissions?

when you say unconfortable is it too far back? Maybe removing the arm rest might help.

No I think he is seconding the fact the shifter is way to the right and is just not natural. It is basically sits in 1st when a t5 would be in 3, and so on. or 1st when in in 5th.

Mine is in the center like it is stock with a pro50 shifter and its seems fine to me. Iam pulling it out today, if I notice any place that looks like it would make it be moved over to the right I will let you know. Off the top of my head i have no clue how that could happen.

Mine's dead nuts in the center. 3550 w/Pro 5.0.

They're notorious for shifting hard...any short throw shifter (even the wonderful God's gift to shifters MGW ) will amplify this.

Mine seemed pretty deadnuts too, and I didn't see any way/reason it would be off center when I was pulling it out.

i have the tko 600 and it is not center. just the way the tremecs are. there is no possible way of putting the transmission in crooked so dont worry about it
