Hey all, I'm installing a autometer electric water temp. gauge on my Edelbrock Performer lower. I installed the sending unit in the back on the driver's side.

Here is a pic:

Well, it's not reading much temperature (around 100F)..... I thought this was a coolant passage back there, but could I be wrong? Anyone verify this?

Is my best option then to just tee off the front where the stock sending unit is?

I think what you'll hear is to move the stock gauge connection (if you want to use the stock gauge as a backup) to the rear drivers side opening. Then you run the autometer off the front drivers side where the stocker was.

Yup pull the stock water temp sensor out of the drivers front on the lower and put the new sender in place.

That back hole doesn't get a constant flow of coolant. I bought a chrome frpp water neck and just screwed the sender into that.
