S.F. Cal,
Just installed i believe a pain in the rack and pinion from cardone.
It,s seems that threads on this subjectare stangsters who understate the labor and basically pain in the rack all the way around.
jackin, grease dirt falling everywhere ,working on your back fluid leaking all over.
Neck straining to see every thing fittings o rings . bushings rag joints pinch bolt clamps, tie rod ends aligning steering wheel on anon and on.
I would sugest to anyone wanting to save a few bucks to consider saving it somewhere else.
This over all can have tedious and many ways to screw up. leaks, a whole lot of time and hell!!
I would never do another one!!!!
Shop wants $600 a rip but ......
Let,s put it this way restoring an old 5.0 aint what it's cracked up to be.
Hey maybe i 'll go for that 05 after all.
ok questions comments reactions any and all yo:mad: :bang: :bang: :bang:

I gotta do this in the next week or so. Im hoping you just arent a good mechanic because I've heard its fairly easy. not difficult as you say

Put it this way read all the posts about possible o ring leaks,
laying on ur back grease oil everywhere using a drop light the shaft connections are way up in a corner accessed from below 90% of the job is.
Ive single handedly changed engines , clutch jobs, brakes, u joints, water pumps, ect.
I just don't like struggling like that anymore , years ago i worked daily on cars.
I feel i don't have the motivation any more for it.
Yeah saved a few bucks but aint out of the woods yet we'll see tommorrow how it comes out???
Ill let you know??
ask me what u like ill try and help you.
