Installing Springs

Hi everyone, 1st time poster but long time reader.

I purchased the H&R SS spring Kit and it should be here Monday. I can't do the install myself, so I got 2 estimates this afternoon.
Local Ford Dealer = $325-$350.
Local Car Care Center = $160

I had gears installed by the dealer and paid a little more, but I thought it was a good idea because of the technical part in the set-up. So I'm second guessing myself if I should let the cheaper shop do the work.

Do it yourself. Its easy fastest ive done it 2 hours! Average 3 hrs! Where do you live?

I second the diy comment. But I know how intimidating any job you don't know how to do can be.
Where do you live? I'm sure one of use will be able to find you a specialty shop near you where you can go. I would only ever go to a mustang shop if it were me because the other shops just don't care. To them it's just a car, but to us, and mustang specialty shops, it's a passion and should be done right, and most importantly with care! The last thing you want is problems because they didn't do the install correctly which could create all sorts of problems.
Let us help you find the right place to get it done if you decide to get someone else to do it.

It's really not that hard. But if your going to pay someone make sure the can do the alignment also.

Gears need skill, springs not so much. I think you should do it yourself...

I've done business with Custom Performace in Concord. The owners name is Dale and he's really nice. I let him do my 410's. I wanted to do it but chickened out because of horror stories of setting your backlash wrong. Custom Performace did a great job and the gears are silent.
They are located behind Lowes Motor Speedway I think off of Victory Lane or something like that. Sorry I don't remember the phone number.
Also, they are not the cheapest, I think the shop rate is $60hr. But they know what their doing, have been in quite a few magazines(MMFF), so you can trust their work. I've also heard stories that if you let them put a Custom Performance sticker on your car they will give you a discount. Check into that.

ya its pretty easy. it might look intimidating, but on our car, u can take spring off of car without spring compresser. And front is an old designe where struts are located outside of spring. you can so it with very basic hand tools.

i hope you got new aftermarket shocks/struts with those H&R super sports. I have those springs currently, and they'll kill the stock shocks/struts in no time...
