installing subframes ?

I have bought some nice sub frame connectors to put on my stang. I was wondering what you thought about bolting vs. welding. They do not weld to the undercarriage of the car. They just bolt to ends of both sub frames to connect them together.

You are supposed to have the weight of the car on the car when you weld them in correct? I have friends with welders, just don’t know how strong the weld will be.

Also, they are just painted black as of right now. Any prep you think I should do to keep them looking and working well with no rust in the future?

Thanks as always! :nice:

It's always better to weld them in. However it's not a bad idea to install the bolt as a safety...

If it is just paint on them now, I suggest powder coating them!
If they are welded properly, no need for any bolts.

Also agree with SandSprite... remove the paint where your weld points are, as well as removing any under-body coating. Powder coating would chip and flake near the weld points but would protect the rest of the sub.
