Installing X-pipe~Need help

Every how to post I have came across so far says that I will need extensions to get to the passenger side head bolt. I am a little confused by this, can some one post pics or a list of the exact size/amount of extensions I will need. Also is there any other special tools I will need for the job? Thanks to all that reply!

I'm not sure of the size, but you'll need at least a 12" extension. Possibly 2 to make 24", and a swivel socket since the bolts are at a funny angle. Are you doing this with a car on the lift or with jackstands?

a minimum of one 12" extension and you must have a 15mm deep well socket

i have a set of extentions that have a ball type end on them.. they are perfect for that little guy...

about 20 to 24 inches of extensions, a swivel, and a 15mil metric socket. i recommend all 1/2in. stuff.

do yourself a huge favor and if you have a little rust start prepping it well before hand with some rust penetrator.......

I didn't and I ended up rounding out that damn bolt becaus it wouldn't break free. It turned into the largest debacle I've had yet with this car. * hours later it ended with me snaking a flexible dremel attachment up there cutting the bolt off and damn near a finger or two along the way.

yea in other words have fun with those bolts. oh and put the 02 sensors in before lifting the pipes up, and if your in need of new 02's do it now and save yourself some trouble.

i think main thing is, be sure to have the extensions, definately the swivel adapter, the deep socket and just plan to spend a few hours doing it and take ur time and it will be no problem.
you also might want to use a high temp gasket maker. first time i put my x pipe in, i had to go back and put the gasket maker in because i had exhaust leaks..

For all that I'll probably be using them, I just bought a couple sets of multiple impact extensions from Harbor Freight for about $20. Now I have more than I'll ever (probably) need. Bear in mind, no this isn't Snap On or Craftsman, but I've had zero issues with these and, again, for as much as I'll use em, they'll do fine.
