I want to swap out my stock cluster for a white faced electroilluminescent gauge pack. I was looking at the autometer, but then a budy of mine said he had the one out of his Roush. I am wondering if his Roush cluster will work in my car because one guy said that some codes and crap wouldn't let my car start if I put the Roush cluster in. Is this true or is he full of it?

Cluster swap
If you swap clusters, you have to transfer the circuit board off the back of your old cluster to the back of the new cluster. Car will then start and the miles on the odometer will be correct. Been there!

Its real easy to swap the circuit board though. I had the autometer one but I couldn't get a acurate reading from it. It was always like +10mph and said i was Idling at like 1100rmps which was bs. I expected it to work out of the box and I tried two of them.

The speedometer gauge and the digital readout, and they differ by just 0.6 MPH.
The tachometer gauge and the digital readout are a bit worse, they differ by about 150 RPM. If I get ambitious someday, I might remove the bezel, and reposition the tach's needle by the 150 RPM to get it the same.
I never did this same comparison with the original, factory stock, cluster. So, I have no idea if this is better, worse, or the same.
