insulation stuff under hood

is it ok to remove? or will it heat me up hotter under there?

It is ok to remove. It will not make it hotter, it will make it cooler.

also wondering about the rubber covering that covers my distributor and the light that lights up the hood ?

u can take that rubber thing that goes over the dist cap off if you like some people like it some dont.....

as far as the light mines not there..you could also hid your pass wires pretty easily and if your bored hide ur drivers =p

but if i pull it out directly from the plug thingy will it make any codes ?

or will it just come out and be okay?

Just unhook the plug going to it. If you are really paranoid about it somehow shorting, wrap some black tape around the plug. The ECU has nothing to do with that particular light either.

That rubber boot over your distributor...I wouldn't remove it, it doesn't weigh anything and it's an insulator against moisture inside you distributor cap, living here in the north east, with crazy weather, it would be a gamble I won't take. My two cents

With removing the insulation on the hood dont you take a chance at toasting the paint on the hood directly above the carb/TB? I know my paint there is looking lighter. And I still have the sheet in.
