intake questions

After buying new brakes a month or so ago instead of an intake, I started to have this aching feeling in my chest. I decided it was a hole in my heart cause by a lack of power... So I found a used trickflow intake on ebay! :D Now that it is sitting here next to me waiting to be installed I have thought of a few things I wanted to ask. First of all, will it fit under my stock hood with the 1" spacer in it? I know the strut tower brace will probably have to come off and be modified to fit, but will the hood shut? Also, I bought the matching throttle body adapter, but will the spacer make it sit too high and not line up with the EGR tube? The spacer came with it, but I dont necessarily care if I use it if it is the difference in making it bolt on without a bunch of extra work... Any input would be great. I did a search but found a bunch of other posts that didnt answer my questions. Thanks.

*Edit. I found the answer to the EGR question. Seems like some of yall have had hood clearance issues and some havent? What are the odds of my hood closing, cause buying a new hood is out of the question...

What about clearing stock valve covers? During the search I read about a lot of people not being able to clear different valve covers, but see much about the stockers. Would they cause any problems? I am just trying to gather this info before I tear into it and see that I dont have all the right parts to make it work properly and waste my time.

I have the TF heads and with the 3/8 spacer I clear those.......so I can't see you NOT clearing stock E7s with the stock vc's.............I would suggest you save up and purchase a set used heads and save yourself the time of redoing it.......you'll notice some gain with the intake but betting flowing heads will wake it up for sure...

I'll tell you how I made out and you can take it for whatever lol.

I have the street heat with a 1"spacer. I have fox vc's which are higher then stock I believe. I needed a spacer for the egr valve to clear. people say I could have used a 3/8 or whatever the smaller one is but i wasn't gonna buy it and find out they were wrong so I just bought the bigger one. Also i had to use 2 of the adapters that 50resto sells to keep the egr pipe on there right cause it kept coming loose and falling off. (I have a 3rd one never opened if you wanna make me an offer) I have a TFS adapter on it as well and a bbk 75mm tb and it all lines up fine. The CAI I have on it is a little shady but it worked. As for the hood clearence I couldn't tell ya I have an after market hood. The first one I had which was the same style i had clearence issues but the new one don't. The STB def will have to come off. they make aftermarket ones that will fit around different intakes but i never felt the need for it. Off the top of my head thats all i can think of. If you have any question feel free to ask

Not sure about the 1" spacer and hood clearance. When I had the TFS street w/ the 3/8" spacer and stock hood it rubbed on the hood blanket, so I would think the 1" would be real close if it did fit under the hood. I would suggest running the 3/8" spacer because that will clear the valve covers and leave you with just enough hood clearance. As for saving for a set of heads, yeah good idea but I dont really think pulling the intake to do them later is that big of a deal. What are we talking 20 min.

Thanks for the responses guys, and I am gonna put it on without the heads. I would love the trickflow heads, but I just bought a house, and Im getting married in July. So money isnt going to be laying around until I get used to budgeting for a mortgage, and get the wedding behind me... I dont want to buy the 3/8" spacer when I already have a 1" spacer that came with the intake... Maybe my hood will have and dent in it until I can find a cheap aftermarket hood. Another question yall might be able to help me with... Will an EGR plug resistor keep the CEL from coming on if I decide to ditch the EGR without a tune? Will the car still run normal if I did it? I already have the EGR resistor from a CEL problem in the past, and if it keeps me from buying a couple extensions to hook up the tube then Ill put it to use... I can fab up a block off plate easy enough.
