Well guys it finally happened my non-PI intake manifold cracked.
The crack went from the thermostat housing all the way up to the
middle of the intake right by the intake plenum.Do you people think
that anything else was damaged? Is this normal?
I couldn't even tell the intake manifold was cracked because the car
ran fine.Except for the pool of coolant that I found under my car in
the morning what a nice surprise I thought after spending two hours
of cleaning up coolant from my engine and the ground.
Looks like I will be buying that PI intake sooner than I thought! :nice:

I don't think it's normal for them to crack up by the plenum. Everyone i've seen including mine crack across the coolant crossover only.

+1

Mine cracked at the crossover ... So you're saying that it cracked, basically, the full legnth of the manifold?

To be honest, I was happy when mine cracked. Doing the intake swap was my first real bit of "tearing down" my engine. I've helped rebuild 5.0's before and what not but not on MY car. I had fun doing the swap. :)

Thats crazy penny...but like others have said, you're going to love this in the long run. Now you'll be able to feel the full gains from those PI cams. You will easily be able to beat stock 99+ GT's now.

but your sig says you have a PI'd gt

Right now I only have PI camshafts in the mustang.
I had plans of getting a PI intake manifold but, with this unfortunate
event happening I bought a PI intake from KarKraft and had
no choice but too get a Ford Focus rental car until I can fix my mustang.
My final conclusion is that the previous owner before me took off
the intake manifold for whatever reason and didn't torque it down
to specs correctly.Whenever I get my PI intake manifold I will take
it to the shop to tap it for the second coolant temp. sensor.
I have the list of parts I will have to get to do the swap and
I know where to put the black RVT on the ports.
Thanks for your input guys. :nice:
