I am tryin to decide on an intake and I think I have come to a conclusion on the Edelbrock performer 5.0. I have a 95 gt and its mainly for street maybe a few times up to the track but im looking for something that will have a wide power band and at the same time produce the most power. The engine is basically stock except for some ud pulleys and cat-less. I was just wondering if anyone who has this could post what they think about it. If you could help me that would be great! Thanks a lot.

The Performer 5.0 wil be great for a street setup. It'll give you low end torque which is always nice.

I put on an Eddy performer when my car had 3.73's, pulleys, and cat-back. The car pulled much better up top and felt stronger throughout the powerband. Biggest kick in the pants mod I did besides gears. Joe (vibrantredgt) dyno'd a 22rwhp gain with just the intake on stock heads, cam, TB and MAF. Great mod all around.

I got mine from Powered By Ford because it was a somewhat local shop.

The Performer simply rules.

Changes the car's personality entirely!

Got mine through the classifieds brand new for $400 shipped. Check those out first to see if you can catch a deal.

Wow, I just looked at your combo and it's gonna be VERY similar to mine except I held off on the FTI cam. I liked my XE270HR too much to let go of it yet. Plus I have a ProChamber and 4.10's, but the rest of our mods will be similar. I even had 2-chamber Flows until a few weeks ago when I bought a Magnaflow catback from the same guy I bought the heads off of.

I think we'll be very pleased. Should be worth your wait!

Also, I just have two quick questions...would i have to get the adapter for the throttle body if i have a stock throttle body and i got the performer? And, would i have to get rid of the a..... i can't believe i forgot the word! U no the bar that goes across the two towers in the front in the engine bay...could i keep that with the performer installed? Thanks, matt

stang2087,
you will need a 94-95 throttle body adapter for the performer. they go for under $100.
the term you are looking for is strut tower brace. the stock brace will not fit over the performer. you can remove it without noticing too much difference if you aren't a corners guy. i never replaced mine and have never really noticed the difference.

jordan,
yeah, i went w/the tried and true combo of the performer intake, afr heads, and the fti cam, mostly because of killercanary. it's a pretty common combo for good reason (i hope!!).
