Intake manifold questions

I want to replace my stock manifold with an aftermarket, but my question is: will the other stock components be able to handle just the new intake or will i need to upgrade other parts? I'm planning on getting a crate motor in the future and just transferring this new intake to that. So, i want something that would can handle the 400-500hp range, but will still function well with the stock engine before I get the crate. I was looking at the holley systemax, what do you think? Any tips and suggestions would be very helpful.

Stick with the Edelbrock series. They're interchangeable so you can find an upper to match your application.

well, i was talking about transferring the upper and lower to keep the cost down in the long run. I don't think I'll be much above 400 horses with the crate unless I add a blower or something.

As Joe was saying just get the edelbrock performer, then when your engine can actually move much more air all you have to do is switch the upper intake plenum from the performer to an RPM or RPMII
