Right now i have fully ported GT-40 aluminum heads. Well they are at the shop now, and before anyone asks why i put money into them, well the work was done for free.

I do have a F-303 cam but its still in the box and i have been thinking of taking it back and just get a custom cam.

Oh an its a 331 stroker.

paid 350 for the intake used. I can't say its mine, the sale is pending waiting for him to get the money through paypal. It needs to hurry up so i can get it to the shop to get ported.

Get the custom and don't look back. The car will do exactly what the cam man says as long as you provide accurate info.

Good choice, the letter cams are pretty weak. Even if you don't get a custom grind, I would trade up for a better out of the box cam.

I am really leaning towards a custom, but what are some good cam choices out of the box.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Call Comp Cams over the phone. They have enough grinds they will be able to give you the right cam.

The CompCams XE grinds and some of the Anderson FM grinds are probably the best off-the-shelf cams. For custom cam grinds the names Jay Allen, Ed Curtis, and Buddy Rawls come to mind.

the performer outflows ALL other street intakes out there, end of story. And they are super cheap if you buy them used, I had one and loved it. And I recommend it to everyone. And when polished they looks sick!

The Performer certainly outperforms all the other long runner intakes (Stock GT, GT40, Explorer, Cobra, TFS Street Burner, BBK SSI) but not all street intakes in general. I'd still consider the Holley Systemax II, Eddy Performer RPM II, TFS Track Heat, and BBK SSI-R as street intakes even though they have shorter runners that favor the higher rpm performance that's required on the strip.
As for the looks, I painted mine (bought for $182 in ebay) with heat-resistant aluminium paint and it looks like this:

Careful how much you spend on an off the shelf cam. IMO if im gonna spend near the amount i would for a custom....i just go custom because of the added benefit of gaining the guidance of the professional.

AFM cams have great results, but they're expensive. So why not just go custom at that point ya know

Crikey, it looks like you've polished the whole engine bay there Mark. Very nice, and clean enough to eat dinner off it!
