I have a 93 5.0 with stock maf and bbk cold air, if I were to upgrade to larger maf is there a limit where the bbk tubes would need to be upgraded? I am thinking of a 70 mm maf to go with my recently purchased 24lb inj. probably a pro m. Next I saw a 70 pro m that is composit instead of metal? Any suggestions as to which way to go?

What are your other mods? What are your running that requires 24 lb injectors? The stock 19 lb injectors are good to 280 flywheel HP with 15% left over for a safety margin.

Stock for now with full exaust sys, power pullies cold air etc. This is the start for a 340 hp crate motor. I plan on a gt40 Explorer or Cobra intake and 70 mm throttle body. Thought this would be a good combination. What do you think? I tried to buy the Cobra ecu kit with 24lb inj and maf and ecu but could'nt get a response from seller so now it's 24 lb frpp inj and 70 maf for 24 lb inj and my A9L ecu.

Stick with the 19 Lb injectors until you have the 340 HP engine in the car. The Explorer/GT40 manifold is a good choice. I would stick with a 65 MM TB for street use. If you get the whole Explorer manifold assembly, a 65 MM TB comes as part of the package.

A 70 MM MAF for use with your stock A9L & 19 lb injectors:
94-95 Mustang GT MAF - $40-$100. It is 70 MM instead of the stock 55 MM on regular stangs built prior to 94. It uses a slip on duct on the side that goes to the throttle body and a 4 bolt flange on the other. You need a flange adapter to fit the stock slip on air ducting that goes to the air box. Wiring plugs right in with no changes. *1 *2

*1.) A metal flange adapter is available from: http://www.kustomz.com/cat3.html . Buy the TR70 for $44.95.

*2.) MAF & sensor interchange
The 94-95 Mustang 5.0 MAF & sensor is also found on:
1995-94 Mustang 3.8L F2VF-12B579-A2A,
1994-92 Crown Victoria 4.6L F2VF-12B579-A2A,
1995-94 Mustang, Mustang Cobra 5.0L F2VF-12B579-A2A,
1994-92 Town Car 4.6L F2VF-12B579-A2A,
1994-92 Grand Marquis 4.6L F2VF-12B579-A2A,
The A2A, AA, AB, etc, on the end of the part number are minor changes that do not affect the calibration.

95-97 Ford Explorer intake manifold & throttle body $150-$300. The intake manifold flows 220 CFM +, much better than stock. Throttle body is 65 MM, bigger than the 60 MM on stock stangs. I got a 96 with EGR passages that match the stock setup, so my smog gear works just like factory. You’ll need a 65 MM EGR spacer & new gaskets for $65-$90 so you have a place to mount the EGR & throttle linkage.

OK, part of the reason to do this now is that I think I have a bad injector. Came up with a miss at about 4k rpm and up. Changed plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Egr valve, PVC valve, TPS sensor, coil, dist pick up and module. Fuel pump and filter. About all that is left is Maf and injectors. I cleaned the sampling tube with maf cleaner and used pour in tank injecter cleaner. When this started was just after filling the tank plus about 5 miles.
When it started it would back fire through the intake or at least that was what it felt like at 2k rpm or so. after each new part it would get better untill now it is just a miss above 4k but still down on power down lowand all the way up. Will the injectors and matching maf work ok with current set up?
What would you do? Also car has no converters or air pump but ran good that way before.
Also inst'd new o2 sensors and adjusted tps per the book.
