ok i am wondering if just cleaning the dash and vinyl make it more prone to cracking in the sun??? The armol all things say they prevent cracks and stuff, making it seem if you dont use armorall the dash will crack in 5 mins.

I just like the clean look, i cant find a good protectant... they are all too shiny for me... makes the dash looks greasy and crappy.

Also my drivers seat has a small tear at the rearmost seam, i noticed it getting tad worse, any tips to remedy this before it gets too far???

I know armor all claims to protect vinyl, plastic or whatever, and it might, but i've also heard otherwise. A guy I used to work with claimed that armor all actually makes your dash crack. I've used it before and mine's been fine. I'd assume sitting in direct sunlight for long periods is probably the worst thing for your dash.

I'd suggest a sunblock for your windshield and possibly even tint the side windows

To clean the plastic parts just use some soapy water and wipe off the dust. I like to use the armor all if you want to protect, then just use a damp cloth to take care of the shine..

its up to you brotha...

When I am really detailing my car, I use cut simple green and scrub it down. THen I top it off with 303 Aerospace protectant. That stuff is awesome...it cleans and protects everything, leather and plastics. I've heard that over time, Armor All tends to dry out plastics and make them crack, but its never happened to me personally, nor do I want to find out.

I have had my Stang since 88. It has no cracks in the interior. I always clean the interior with a damp rag and now use Meguair's Shine. Use some Zep carpet cleaner on the carpet and seats. My car sits in the FL sun all day.
