No, that's more or less what I've been doing. It's hard to find good, clean replacement parts anymore.

I like my Scarlet red interior, you cant get the tweed cloth anymore, so if its nicer - do it.

not bad. Is it still in the car, or removed already? Look at all the tabs, clips, holes etc. if it is removed to make sure nothing is broken or missing. Half of the parts you find for sale seem to be ripped out by a silverback gorilla.

I'd love to know how it became known as 'porno red'. Im sure that's not how it was labeled on the window stickers, hahahahaha

I believe the "****" of the era used the before mentioned red velour. So the nickname has stuck it seems. I like a good clean red interior as well. I do not like the ALL red dashes/steering wheels of the later years. The black top and black wheel is a must to break up all of that red.

I know my "red interior" opinion isn't what the op is asking for but I gotta say "I do not like red interiors" lol. I looked at a couple cars before buying my 86 that were nice cars but I had to pass on because of the red interiors. I'd spend the money converting to gray or black but that's just my .02. If you do like the red and can have a "new" interior for 400$ or less...I say go for it.

Nope. You could convert to gray or black for not much more, and up your resale.

Unless you are really into red. In which case, do what you like.
