IRS / Solid Axle swap
If anyone is looking for a 'built' 31 spline 01 cobra IRS, I would be willing to do a swap. I do like the IRS, but since i went Big Bore and have 424btq & 440bhp, I cant stop the wheel hop in 1st gear. all the other gears are pretty stable. Its just that i know i'll be doing more drag racing than anything, so i might as well do the swap. the IRS has the following mods:

Ford motorsport 4.10 gears
Pauls high performance IRS brace with polyurethane bushings
eicbach progressive rate springs
2000 cobraR bilstein shocks
Maximum motorsports urethane subframe bushings (just installed).
My catback is stock with magnaflow mufflers

The IRS handles great, especially since i installed the subframe bushings. I just have too much 'downlow' torque to keep the IRS civil. mail me at [email protected]

conditions:
your solid axle must have 3.73-4.30 gears already (or be willing to pay for the install).
you must have the eibach progressive rate springs installed (or be willing to pay for the springs).
I live in Michigan
thats' it!

I was going that route also but with the new IRS girdle and DSS level 5 halfshafts I should have no trouble launching on slicks with this setup. I should be in the 600+rwhp range and this setup has seen 30+ passes with a 700hp 03 running sub 1.5 60 foots.

Just wanted to let you know before you did the swap :nice:
