Is 130amp alt. enough? Pulley Question.

I'm changing over to a 3g alt in the next week. I've been looking into buying an alternator for a 94 mustang from the local parts store for around $150-$170. I've also been looking at 200 amp alts on ebay for close to the same price. Here is my thinking:

1. I'll probably never put in an electric fan.
2. My stereo will probably be pumping 500-800 watts to a sub.
3. I like the lifetime warranty from the parts store.
4. I'm wierd about buying electric parts for my car from ebay.

I think 130 should be plenty but I wanted to check with yall.

Also, I've got a smaller crank pulley. Will this affect the size of pulley needed on my alt. I've noticed some people have to get a smaller or larger pulley. How will I know if i needed a different alt. pulley for my application?

Most 3g's have a larger pulley than a 65 amp alt. Leaving a smaller crank pulley should'nt be a problem. 200 amp is overkill, I think. If you install it and don't get enough juice, you can get an overdrive pulley for it. It's amazing these cars run with stock alt's. :SNSign:

I installed a 130amp and I can have every power item on with both power windows going down and pull only 83 amps. I dont have a electric fan but I have on. Headlights,Running Lights(GT),Rear Defrost, Air Condition,Stereo, Emergency Blinkers, Blower Fan on High, PMS, Brake lights on and Power Windows going Down. I have 62amps at Idle (780rpm).

Well then, I'll be buying my 3G 130 amp alt. today or tomorrow and will install it this weekend.....I CAN'T WAIT!!

Speedy, how do you draw so little juice with all that stuff on? How are the volts with a full load at idle? I manage to discharge a 160-alt charging system at 660 RPM.
