I would like to get a 2 step for racing.
I was looking at the MSD6-AL-2.
A fellow racer / mechanic said to me long ago that it puts stress on the crank.
I also saw somewhere that it's not good for the stock Fox Body Mustang crank and other engine related parts?
Does anyone know anything on this?
Thanks!
Perhaps but not until you start getting upwards of 500ish+. Even then lots of things come into play. Deflection, regardless of the cause, is what wrecks OEM Windsors.
A 2-step works by cutting either fuel or spark from random cylinders to keep rpm's in check.
I don't know how cutting load from cylinders to limit rpm can cause any kind of damage.
The engine would have to have a previous underlying condition to even potentially be a concern.
