Is an Ecam too small????

Ok my car has been stock for awhile with the exception of a TFS TRACK heat intake and a vortech blower... It is time for a rebuild now and i already bought a set of ProtopLine 180 aluminum heads.. I bought an e cam before i even thought i was gonna go this radical with a set of heads.. My question is.. Will the ecam be just fine?? Or should i be looking into a different cam.. One cam that has caught my interest is the Anderson B-31... what do you guys think?? Protopline heads, track heat intake, BLAH cam???? The only limiting factor is that my heads are being built with springs to .550 lift... Im not quite sure if the B-31 has more lift then that or not?

B31 Has a 112 lobe seperation I do beleive & the e has a 110 so the b31 would be a better choice but if you looking to save a buck go with the Steeda #18 that's my suggestion.

Ok i just got off the phone with rick from AFM... i couldnt get any info on the lift of the B-31, but he told me ill be fine with my 550 lift springs... Now heres the question.. is it worth the change to my benefit?? if so or not, why????

summit rebuilt speedpro dished 306 pistons at 9.14:1 with Protopline 180 heads bringing the compression down to 8.5:1, TFS track intake, and a BLAHHHHH cam..... Boost will be between 8-12 (whichever helps get me to my 450 rwhp, stock block being the limited factor) and timing will be set with the help of a coolingmist 50/50 water methanol kit..

Sorry I meant the #18 "not #19" & it's price I do beleive right now is $179.00. But for a blower cam ya the #19 is the way to go as that is the one I'm gonna buy Crane makes em & crane is on backorder right now I'm still waiting for a 19 to come available but 18's you can still buy, only difference between the two is there lobe seperation & for a supercharged car you do need a real tight lobe seperation & the steeda #19 is the tightest I could find & probably the best cam on the market for a supercharged motor, if your gonna be running a blower I would stear clear of both the E & the Anderson cams as they are have 112 & less lobe seperation & superchargers need a 114 or higher. ;)

Here ya go buddy, knock yourself out.

use the B-25 cam with a 1.6 intake and 1.7 on the exhaust....the Pro Toplines aren't terrible heads with a decent valve job and some bowl blending but the exhaust leaves something to be desired. With the compensation in the camshaft of 8 degrees (Well, more like 9.5 with the split rockers) and the lower lift on the intake, you should be able to build pretty good power and torque....but if you have a good header primary (Say 1 3/4")and no cats then you could probably maintain the 1.7 rockers on both....just my .02, Jason

I have the e cam however i dont have nearly as radical a set up as you. You need to ask yourself some questions like is this your daily driver? How reliable do you want it? And what exactly are you trying to acheive besides the 450 rwhp? Remember that certain cams work better thru certain rpm ranges so keep that in mind. Good luck with the build up.

Yes this will be my daily drive and im looking for 450 to the rear and keep good driving habits.. My shift will probably be at 5800..

As far as heads and money goes.. I dont think im gonna do any kind of valve job and im just gonna put them on the motor as-is, just my cam is my only question.. I am cam retarded..

Mike thanks for the anderson specs...

I have no doubt about it... it damn well better be done in almost 2 months!!!! Today is a perfect day to rock the t tops off but noooooo. i have my moms damn BEETLE!!!..... If anything, my car will be ready, but not tuned and broken in soo either way, not a problem, still wouldnt put me back from having a nice cruise to seaside..... my motor right now is at bayshore motors on fischer and 37...

I used to work with an old guy at Wawa who built tube chassis Mustangs, actually he still races them.

anyway, he was always telling me to go there if I needed anything because they do good pretty good work. i think he had them build his race heads, and he said they did a great job.
