Is it possible to put 92 coolant overflow sensor in a 88?

I just picked up a low coolant sensor for my 88gt. The problem is my original sensor had two wires. This one has three. After doing some research i found the 87-89 mustangs use two wires. The 90-93 mustangs use three wires. Is there a way to hook up a three wire sensor to a two wire sensor????
