Am I the only one that is thinking that having no catback at all is pretty damn cheesy?

Nope. I don't like the exhaust tone at all when a car has no mufflers.

you dont need backpressure... backpressure just happens to be a byproduct of creating exhaust gas veolicty... its always a trade off... you can tune the pipe size/length for high rpm and it will be shorter and fatter or you can tune it for low rpm which will be longer and skinnier... when you unbolted your catback all you did was freeup your exhaust... and relieve backpressure and loose low rpm gas speed which is a great thing for highrpm but you suffer in the low end because the exhaust isnt helping to scavenge at such low rpm...

in short your fine it will just sound like ass...

If you guys go to youtube and look up "SLP mustang", you will see my Red mustang on a few of the clips look for stuff posted by "Shallowreef".

I run Full SLP on my car and its great to me. I also have a catted x and LM2. Check it out and let me know what you guys think. I would post it for you but work blocks youtube.

True. It will most likely throw off your fuel trims if the o2's are close to the collector, but they will correct themselves when you put the mid pipe back on.

Open headers was ungodly loud in my garage, sounded decent, wouldnt want to drive around like that at all though.

How do magnapacks sound with an o/r x?

should not be a problem, but....my dad who is "old school" make a good point about running open exhaust, esp in the winter where it gets cold. once you shut the car off, cold air is drawn up thru the headers and if cold enought and the exhaust valve is hot enought, it could cause a valve or valves to warp. I've never seen this happen and again this old school thinking but it is something to think about

if you dont think they will warp go out and pull the headers off and run open head.... tach 5k a few tiems then turn it off.... make sure you have a camera ready for the next time you start because its going to make some cool noises...

Mine didn't come today. I guess he did say the "middle" of next week, which would be anywhere from Wed to Sat...I really hope they come soon I can't wait!

We need to compare the sounds since I have O/R X w/ NPI, and you have Catted H w/ PI...they will sound a LOT different!

Just got home from work and had 2 packages sitting on the front steps. I called Midas and I told them I would come in after work tomorrow. They sounded excited about installing them.
