I know 93's came with the hyper pistons, my questions is can i supercharge this engin without having to worry to much about it failing?

As long as your not running too much boost, and definately do NOT ping. Detonation will kill those pistons if it is exposed for prolonged periods of time.

yea although the 93's lack the factory forged pistons, as long as your compression is still there and you get a good tune directly after the blower install you should be fine.

You mean Vortec, right? As long as you run a conservative amount of boost and have a conservative tune it should be no problem.

Now seriously, what is the fun in running a very conservative boost when you have a supercharger? I wouldn't trust them for long-term durability as they will fail over time. However, as said, run conservatively and try not to exceed 5-6 psi of boost at the max and you should get by..

what they all said,
1. not too much boost (perferably under 9)
2. Dont let it ping
3. Get a good tune after install

Well I would hope it's been safe since you've got a 92. You didn't put hyper pistons in it did you?

That will be a better route to take. With a supercharger and hypers it's the dentonation that gonna kill your pistons. You could do pretty well with a natural aspirted 5.0. But play your cards right and buy the expensive parts.

Set your timming at 20* and pull your spout out and run enough fuel and you wont have to worry about detnation probs or anything like that.

I should be at 10-11 PSI once my power pipe is on

Look at sig...I'd go to the track but I'm in the process of getting a clutch in and my valve cover leak fixed...I wish somebody knew where I can get some NEW stock valve covers...
