It looks just like the Lakewood. They're only $28 & 35 respectively, I was wondering if one was better than the other. My preferred loop is the HPM but I want to order from Summit so it will have to be FMS or lakewood.

Thanks guys.

The FMS one is a Lakewood. Ford likes to "rebox" a lot of their stuff, but with the D/S loop they don't even do that much. I ordered mine from Summit using the FMS part number and a Lakewood loop came.

I should have called them and raised hell b/c I spent like $7 extra for nothing, they are the exact same thing. Ford just sells the Lakewood one under their part number and makes a tiddy $7 profit.

I agree with them.It is not a high tech item or anything its a bent piece of steel with a couple holes. I would buy whatever was cheapest.Even cheaper, make one, it is pretty easy.

Is there decent clearance for an aluminum Driveshaft?

It is TIGHT with the FMS alum. DS. I had to install the bolts from inside the loop and put the nuts on the outside to clear, and even then it was close. Don't make one unless you have access to some thick ass metal. I had a U joint fail and the DS loop saved my ass, but I TORE IT UP. I mean I bent the crap ut of it, I had to take a sledge hammer to it to get it back into shape. I hear the HPM has more clearance. If you go with the FMS/Lakewood one, MAKE SURE you triple check the alignment of the DS to the loop to make sure that there will be no interference.

there are two different FMS driveshaft loops. the part # that ends with just a C is the Lakewood version. the one that ends in C2 is the HPM version. i got mine from summit and it was the C2 and was in a HPM box.

Hey thanks for the info. how much more clearance could you get if you welded the loop together instead of using the bolts? It looks thick enough. I would still bolt the loop to the car though.

Do these loops bolt on to existing holes or do you need to make them?
