With the speedometer not working?

My speedometer stopped and I need to take a long trip to Long beach. I have a 1998 with 4.10s and I have had the Dallas Mustang SpeedCal. I pulled the gear out and it looked OK, The red wire has power and the little 2 prong connector thingy looks OK.

Does the engine management system need input to correctly run things?

Do you have aftermarket gauges? Sometimes my gauge face must bend or something and it catches the needle so it won't move. If that could be your problem, then you just stick a fork under the round base of the needle and pry it up a little bit so it doesn't hit the gauge face.
If that's not it, sorry man. I don't know. That's the only speedo problem I've had to deal with.

worst that can happen is no cruise control, maybe an occasional idle surge when you come to a stop
