Is there a reason that you don't see too many electric water pumps???

I was just wondering what the positives and negatives are.

I don't think ive seen any stangs in this section with one.

it seems like a logical upgrade so i was just wondering why no one runs them.

i've been wondering the samething too

even many fox guys dont because it is cost to performance prohibitive (read a lot of cost for very little gain).

i would not run without a variable controller on it and the fan, as well (more money).

You dont see them on 94-5 cause they dont make them. I talked to Meziere www.meziere.com a few days ago and they are supposed to be in final testing for a model to fit our cars. The guy said for any intrested to give them a call and they will take your info, then will call you once the pump is complete.

I use the cheap azz Moroso kit. It was around $70 when I bought it and I never had an issue with it. The car stayed cool no matter how hot out it was or how much I abused the car. I don't put that many street miles on my car but it has never given me any issues.

here's the pics.

please remember this is the Prototype pump. there has been NO polishing, anodizing or anything.
it's working fine out here in AZ with the original radiator (yes from 1994), stock t-stat and A/C.

Even if they did make them for my car, I doubt I would buy one. It just seems that if there is an electrical problem with it...you would in effect have no water pump...

not sure if that is 100% accurate but I am just weary of them, they seem like more of a track car piece
in theory you're right, but in practice you're probably about as likely to have a belt go out on you and although you could drive your car it oviously wouldnt cool, or the waterpump in the car could seize up also and cause the same problem.
as stated before i think the biggest reason is the cost of one, 325 or so for one, i'll get one eventually so that i can just run the crank pulley and alternator off a very short belt and no AC, PS, or smog pump.

CJ...you dog! How did you manage to get in on the testing? We told them we would be more than happy to help them out but alas they said they had plenty of volunteers in the area. (no surprise there :) )

I talked to them again about 4 days ago and they wouldnt give any clues about shipping dates, just the usual call back in a couple of weeks. You heard anything recently, would love to stick this thing on BEFORE the moter goes back in.

Thanks
