Is there a way to get our computer to recognize boost?

If you were to install a 2 bar MAP sensor for example, would it be possible to get our computer to use it to change the timing? Or is it only possible to use that along with an MSD (or other ignition) box to retard the timing linearly? Am I asking stupid questions again?

The EEC system by itself cannot, however a PMS type add-on system can and therefore you do not need a BTM. I think the PMS can even record the boost and timing for later viewing.

The EEC cannot detect boost per se, but it tunes by load, which is effected by boost.
