IS there a way to get traction with stock pony rims?

my goal is to keep the car looking all stock. no gauges, etc. I want to keep the ponies as well. As it sits right now with 373's. Im spinning all the way through second. Is there a tire I could get? If its wider, do i need to get a spacer to clear the quad shocks? What have others done? I plan on getting tko 600 and eventually trick flow top end. How can i get this power to grab?

i did the suspension. Its not really a drag suspension though. I did rear upper and lower control arms. and frpp "c" springs. What is the widest dr i can put on the rims? Who makes them? MT ?

you could fit a 275. Mickey Thompson makes some nice DOT Slicks that will hook real nice.

my tires right now almost hit the quad shocks. Do i need a spacer or do i have to remove the quads? Also what is the exact tires size i need

I was runing 255/60/16" BFG drag radials the older tread style on ponys and hooked up pretty good but i dont put down to much power. They rubed alittle but nothing a hammer couldnt fix.

Nitto DR's. I think theres only 1 size for 16' rims. There great in the rain and last for 15,000 miles. There 1 size bigger then stock so it looks stock.

cool. Rain wouldnt be a problem. This is for a garage queen that will only see about 500 miles a year

Since you have LCAs, ditch the quad shocks and go with a 255/50R16 ET Street.

I have 255 MT ET radials on my stock ponies, my car looks bone stock from the outside, no gauges, no cowl, nothing. H/C/I 302 with spray, 4.10s, 31 spline etc. etc., no traction problems track or street.

Et streets on the ponys as said. Best damn drag radial that I know of. Don't run spacers either unless you got a death wish. A fox came in at my dads old shop before I was even old enough to consider driving a car, but my cousin looked at it when he worked there. He complained of a vibration, and when they inspected the wheels, 3 of the lug nuts were gone, and the 4th was very loose. Lets not forget the underpressuregt incident either.

Since you have LCAs, ditch the quad shocks and go with a 255/50R16 ET Street.

Thats a horrble way to try and gain traction........if you have issues try flipping the quad shock the other way, some aftermarket ones fit better as well. With out the quads you will be getting some nasty axle roll, ESPECIALLY with tires that hook.

Some drag raidals and you'll be all set!
