I found a original 69 mach 3speed 351 in a lot and the guy wants $1500 for it, but i think he'll go for the grind. Appears to be all numbers matching. Original blue with black interior that is still in good condition. The body has a little hood damage and the 1/4s have some rust, but not rotting through. all the glass is intact. it is currently not running, but it could be something easy or something major i am not sure. I am moving within a couple weeks and if i were to buy it, i would try the obvious stuff to get it started. And if that didnt work i would ship it (roughly $900), pull the motor, rebuild it and machine it a little bit. can anyone give me any comments or ideas. I am looking for a project and I like this car. I figure it will cost roughly 8-10k to restore it. Me being lame i forgot to bring my digital camera when i went to look at it.

Thanks, any help is appriciated.

Mike

if the body is realtively rust free BUY IT, plain and simple, even if you have to replace the entire engine it's a lot cheaper than rust repair. make sure the floors are in good shape, if they aren't rusty chances are pretty good that the rest of the car will be in decent shape, provided they have not been previously replaced

Congrats on the find! May I ask where did you find it? If you don't buy it let me know where it is asap - I'm looking for a 69-70 myself. I'm in York County so I'm near you if your location (Smithfield) is correct.

That would be fantastic!!!

Are you stationed at Langley right now? I'm on the NASA side of the fence (hence the lame screen name).
