is this a sway bar?

there is a bar running parallel with my rear end in the back. looks like its bent to give a little, kind of crooked sucker. cant get a pic right now, but is this a sway bar?

i didnt think we had them in the back. on the 2.3s anywho.

hah, positive i dont have a 5.0. vin checks out as a 4cyl too, thought maybe previous owner pulled a 5.0 out.

the guy said he wanted to drop a 5.0 in though, perhaps he threw it on expecting to do the swap?

in the spirit of curiousity, can someone post a picture of a front and rear sway bar on our cars?

preferably stock front, because mine doesnt look as puny as everyone describes. and id be interested to know if it was upgraded.

get out your calipers (or monkey wrench and tape measure if you don't have any) and measure them. The biggest factory rear bar is 3/4 from certain mustangs and thunderbirds, and 5/16 is what I see on some cougars and T-birds.
on the front, the biggest factory bar was 1 5/16" from the GT, with the lx 5.0 getting a slightly smaller 1 1/4 or something like that, and the stock 4cyl getting 3/4" front bar.

rough measurement reads 1 1/2" for rear and about 1" for front
