Is this guy right??

Fox puters also adjust it upon start up, but surging still exists.

I would at least check the closed throttle value to ensure it is within reason. But specifically, I agree with Grady that you dont need to dial in a given value (0.97 volts, etc) per se.

Good luck.

A little more specific info on this topic.

Over time I've been sent d logs from several peeps to look at and their values have ranged from a low of about .94xx to a high of about .98xx volts.

Someone told me the other day he usually saw a closed value of 1.2 volts and he has never had any kind of prob, as far as he knows.

I took a quick look at some of my d logs and saw these values
1) 12-19-03 .9652 volts
2) 02-07-04 .9602 volts
3) 04-10-05 .9553 volts

1 & 2 were with the stock tb and no changes between the dates
3 was with a different tb

I have seen every now and then, the closed position voltage change or drift just ever so slightly.

for what it is worth, a little tps voltage data for your amusement :D

Like Mr. Hissin...I just don't think it matters a whole lot

Yeah no point in trying to adjust it. Even if you can fudge it to turn or whatever, the computer will probably just correct what you did. I thought I had a problem with mine untill I logged it, I'm not sure how, but the log read correclty from the computer even though the DiMM read differently. I wouldn't bother messing with it, chances are you won't fix anything.

Nice info Mr. Grady. With foxes, they are supposed to zero out if within tolerance (~+/- 20%) and if they cant, they toss a code.

I misread the initial post. I thought someone was installing a new TPS, not adjusting an existing one. When doing a new one, I would check it out. Otherwise, ahh, if ya want (I still do cuz I am nosey). :)

You and your logging - I am jealous!

Im fricking confused now. My car runs like crap. If i ease on the throttle and stay at about 10% throttle it runs stronger and smoother but if i sink my foot into it, it just doesent do much. I dont know what the hell the problem is but its bull*****. In pursuit of a solution I have replaced both 02 sensors, engine coolant temp sensor, cleaned the MAF sensor a couple times, cleaned the air filter, changed spark plugs (gapped), new plug wires, new ACT sensor. I am so frustrated and i hate drivning my car sometimes because of it.

Like I hinted at in my first post, if someone is having issues, I see no harm in dialing in the TPS value. I would do it if I were in your situation, RL.

John, If you love logs, you will love my dog. :D
