About a month ago i had my traction lock rebuilt with new clutches. i went to the track about a week after and both wheels were spinning for my burnouts all night(street tires)... Last night i went to the track and as far as i know all my burnouts were with only the right tire(BFG A/T drag radials). I was sitting there spinning one wheel and then when i let off the brake and started moving forward i felt it kick in. Is something not working right or this normal for the Ford Trac-Loc unit?

no this is not normal. It could be that it's not shimmed right or something else is wrong. what kit was used? chances are the car needs to go back the shop that rebuilt it, it's probally loose( the clutches).

I agree, whoever built it may not have shimmed the clutch pack as tight as possible. No need to take it back to the shop unless they will tighten it up for free, you can shim it tighter in your driveway if that's what it needs.

I only suggested that because in my opinion the shop didn't the job right + he had a shop do it so I assumed he didn't know how. I could be wrong though

I agree, I was just saying that because some shops will say it is a driver created problem and try to charge him again. If they will cover it for free then take it back to them, if they won't, it is an easy fix.

okay i figured it wasn't normal. The package i used was the ford racing one off of late model resto... I guess i'll have to call the guy who did it and see if he'll take a look at it and adjust it but if he's a dick about it i may need a quick lesson on how to tighten the shims. Thanks
