Every year I change:
Plugs $36.00
Cap and Rotor $53.00
Fuel Filter $25
Air Filter $17.00
Not a crazy high horsepower engine.
9.0:1 compression stock bottom end Ford Racing 2006 crate motor Gt 40 heads B-303 cam
Drag car only. Not street driven. Alot of idling. Warm up around the pits. Then WOT LOL!
And how long are the plug wires good for. They are Ford Racing wires.
I think the person I sold the car to and then I bought it back, changed them in 2016 or so.
I am not being cheap but, I don't feel like wasting time or money if it's not needed.
What do you guys think?
Thanks!

I think race cars require more maintenance .
On that note my daily that I beat on occasionally gets new plugs every year, new cap ,rotor, and wires every five years.
I've done this for 17 years now and 300,000 miles.

1991 LX stock motor with 115k on the clock:

She gets new plugs, an oil change with filter, fuel filter, air filter, and the MAF sensor cleaned at the end of each season which is approximately 1,000 - 1,500 miles of driving.

Brakes, fluids, rotor, cap, and the PCV valve is checked and changed when necessary.

Still rocking the original date coded 1991 wires. No issues but I keep an eye on them as well.

With all that said, IMO the only maintenance really necessary that frequently unless it’s a race car are oil and oil filter changes.
The rest of the stuff can go a bunch of years.
