Whats up guys? Here's my dilemma. It is time to buy new tires for my 03 GT. But due to looks and traction I want to go with wider rims on the back. How does this look and handle? And where can I get wider bullit styles cheap? Also what type of tires do you guys all run? Thanks for any advice, Ozzy

Get these. I beleive they're Wheel Replica's. 17x9 front w/ 275/40's -- 17x10.5 in the rear w/ 315/35's

If you run at the track pick up some Nitto DR's for the back. The traction should be better with the larger patch on the ground, and even better with the DR's

as long as u don't drive in rain, I say go with at least 275 or 285. In rain, i think these tire are about as usufull as pair of ski on blacktop. Plus, car look awsome from behind with wideass tire on it

Adrock, dude what kind of drop do you have on that stang. It is exactly what I am wanting. And did you have to modify anything on the body so that you didn’t scrape any of your tires when you hit the bumps? Great looking car.

it equals out to be the same. i forgot the equation between the width & the heighth to come to the exact MM of the sidewall, but trust me it's the size it needs to be

The sidewall measurement is a percentage of the tread width.

275x.40=110mm or 4.33 inch sidewall
(4.33x2)+17=25.66 inches overall tire diameter

315x.35=110.25mm or 4.34 inch sidewall
(4.34x2)+17=25.68 inches overall tire diameter

While they aren't "exact", they are VERY close.

Here is more info on sizing.

I always see everyone with 17" wheels, why doesnt anyone have 315s on a 15"? I am in the market for new wheels and tires, but I am going with 15x10's in the back.

I want to go with 15 inch wheels all around. Not many options. Mostly Welds. Want to start a new thread on 15 inch wheel options?

cragar has some nice 15s they kinda look like bullet rims, only a lot smaller spokes. They have them over at jegs...

No, it will look fine and save you some cash. I did the same to my old Gt seen at the link below. The ad says 17x9s but they are 17x8s up front and 17x10.5 in the rear. Hope this helps.
