It's Alive! 351W Gob's of torque!

Well, I finally have the 351 running in my 78 KC. All I have to say is HOLY CRAP! This thing rocks.

I have not really stomped on it yet because I have open headers and I am afraid of the sound police. (not to mention that it will not hook up with the stock tires)

I am still fighting the whole header thing but I will prevail! I have a few leaks and will work through it. (yeah, it's really tight on the pass side)

Last but not least, I am currently working on modifying the trans crossmember. One of the header collectors is directed right in the center of the drivers side of the member. I plan on cutting that part of the member out and fabbing a tubular "hump" to clear the collector. I will post the pics when I am finished.

Yep, 351 IIs kick butt. My 351 77 Ghia was one of the funest cars I've ever owned.

I built my '78 302 out to 331 this winter and -- pardon the colloquialism -- da-a-a-amn. The 351 must be insane in a II.

BTW, I flipped my single-hump xmember over and cut the holes in it on the other side to fit my headers. Looks like ass but it works. I dunno if that approach will work on the 351. I'll post a pic when I get home tonight.

Yup it works, did it with my 351... also if you think a 351 is D-a-a-a-mmm! Then what a bout a beefed ported cammed 351 in a II!? Well let me tell you its not only D-a-a-a-mm! but HOLY SH*!!! D-A-A-A-MMM! OH SH*!! WOH!! AAHHHH WHoooooHOOOOOOOO!!..... whew, glad I didn't die!

When I first fired up the 331 with the dual quads and the tunnel ram, the sound alone was enough to make me, uh, excited. BOM-BOM-BOM-BOM-BOM. The first time I really put my foot into it, I needed a warm washcloth and a cigarette.

Had to throw down $700 for a new rear end just to get it to hook up, though.

Gonna be a great summer. Wish it would stop raining -- even with the locker it goes ape$#!+ in the rain.

But hey, this is about wayfast's ride. (My short-lived "331 WOO-HOO!" thread got eaten in the crash.)

thanks Gael, videos were from last year with the injected 351. The best time was 12.1@113 It should be well into the 11's this year, the 408 is very mild with .523 .523 lift cam, ported windsor sr. and extrude honed lower gt40 and 93 cobra upper (also extrude honed)
