I tend to roll in neutral a lot. I've even made it a game to see how far i can roll sometimes in neutral.

I don't turn the engine off though, but when i come off the highway i just shift to N or push the clutch in and roll down the offramp. Same thing with hills or when i see the light go red way ahead.

Amazing how long it takes to stop a car that is just free rolling. I once think I rolled nearly a half a mile in neutral

Its against the Law to Coast in Neutral anytime on the road.

....But i do it all the time lol

Mine has now become a weekend cruiser. I am now getting a bike bc of this crap. I remember when 93 (we get 93 in FL and GA) was like .99 a gallon. One way I try to keep positive is that I tell myself...beer is now cheaper than gas!

Wife and I moved 35 mintues away from where we both work last year. We're lucky that we can drive together but it's still costing us $110 a week in gas to fill up her Honda Pilot. We used to live 5 miles from work.

Well sense we all have our own little stories here. I got one...

I bought a 96 Geo Metro (laugh all you want) 4banger, not the 3, and i get about 45-50mpg all day, everyday. The thing is a freakin CHAMP with 230,000 miles on it!

Now some numbers for ya. It cost me about $40 a fill up with a 10gallon tank.
Now i'll go about 480miles to a tank and I drive 220 miles a week back and forth to work. so i get gas about every payday.

So if you wanna do the math
Geo is $80 a month on gas
Stang would be about.... $160 a month or so...
And saving $80 bucks a month for the last (lets just say one year) $960! Just in freakin gas!!!!
So to all you people who pay all this money for gas, i think its time to start really thinking about getting different transportation. And thats only my .02

I know drivin the stang is really nice to have some power, and look good doing it, but we have come to a point in our age that money is going to be harder to come by if we have to sell eveything we have to pay for gas.

End rant

What? Against the law? What law and where? That is absolutely retarded for anyone that drives a manual transmission. Unless you like wearing out clutches and your leg, you should use neutral coming to a stop.

I used to live 35 miles from work, but I recently moved to within 3.5 miles. I'm still driving way to much though... just going to the store, going to the airport, helping friends, ect ect.
