And I hated it.

Lets just say I would hate my car if I didnt have that brace. Just driving at 55 MPH if you jerk the wheel one inch you can feel the body twisting and it twists back and forth. The steering wheel will bounce an inch or so back and forth until you stop it.

I put it back on just now and now you cant feel the body twist, just the body roll. :rlaugh:

But the STB definitely makes a huge difference. All you guys w/o one need to get one.

i'm with you. when i had my kb, i had it off and it definately made a big difference. now that it is back on, i can notice how much stiffer it is.

night and day

also, while it was off (while i had the kb), i had coil overs installed. 6 months later, when i took the kb off and went back to n/a, i tried to put the brace back in, but the shock towers had spread, so it was almost impossible to get the bolt holes to line up. that was when i decided to yank the motor anyway, so i just left it off.

so if you have coil overs, then you need a brace even more.

Since going to my new combo last year I haven't been able to fit my stb. I plan on building one but you know how that goes. It will have to be when I get to it. In the mean time I oughta sell me old stb, I would probably clear enough to buy the materials to build the new one.

i wonder how big the difference would be with SFC's on there

I took off my strut tower brace when I installed my FRPP 1/2" phenolic manifold spacer but I didn't put it back on again. Didn't notice any difference at all. I wonder if the "difference" some people feel is all in the mind?

I didnt take it off with the intention of testing it. I just didnt feel like putting it back on at the time. Then i started feeling something and thought it was my new tires. But I put it back on today and its gone.

And every car is different. Yours may be a little stiffer, and I do have stock suspension minus the springs.

I didn't feel like putting mine back on either, especially since I'm going to do HCI mods in the future.
Every car is indeed different. Mine rides surprisingly well considering it's 1" lower than stock and there are no rattles/squeaks. It's solidly built.
Those who have convertibles would definitely want to leave the brace on 'cause the convertible chassis is more prone to flex.

OT (kinda) does anyone have trouble getting the top bolt on the passenger side of the STB on with MM C/C plates? Maybe its b/c mine are all the way up. Maybe Ill move them back a tad.
