My idle is still a little of but does not go over a 1000 now. i put in a new ICU, and evrything seeems fine with the TPS, and all that bull****. Now, at around 1500 roms, in any gear, it kinda jerks you. after i pass like 2000 it wont do it any more. Is there any way it could be the coil since it seems to be the stock? this **** is driving me crazy. help me before i start putting bullet holes in the engine!!!!!lol. im not that stupid.lol

i just noticed he coil is loose, is that the way they should be or are thet tight? the bolts aren't loose just the coil itself from the frame.

The coil should not be loose, though maybe some aftermarket ones (if applicable) dont fit quite tight enough. I would shim the coil since vibration is the enemy of electrical items.

Um so what's the problem?

Seriously, I would pull codes and clean the PIP sensor. I am grasping at straws since I dont really understand what is happening with your car (hesitation, etc).

its not after market is a stock one. whats the PIP? and its just one jerk and it stops then 2 secs later it will do it again, and i did check the codes only 111, which is a system pass.

PIP = Profile Ignition Pickup. It's the stator in the base of the distributor.

If your car is jerky, cleaning the PIP might help. If the condition changes after cleaning it, that suggests the PIP is at least related.

Yes

Plug wires are not supposed to touch the headers.

If they are, fix it so they don't.

Dam none are touching. I was hoping they were. Any more ideas before I take it to a shop

I would dump the codes and run a cylinder balance test while doing codes. If you get lucky, when you have to rev the motor for the CBT, you will hit the sweet spot and the puter can try and figure out what is going on.

FWIW, with some reman'd dizzies, when they take in the cores, if the PIP tested ok, they dont necessarily replace it. So yours might have an original PIP that just started to fail.

WHen you got the dizzy, did you see a second hole for the cam gear? The rebuilders often dont reuse the stock hole (since it can be a pain to get aligned) and will simply drill a new hole. A second hole suggests the PIP was replaced.

You can replace the PIP (I think I had just posted that it may or may not have been replaced on the reman'd dizzy. That indicates it is replacable).

I spray electric contact cleaner on the sensor in the bowl. The sensor views the shutter (and 5N95's use the rising and falling edge of the shutter window) so if the sensors starts getting dirty (I live in the desert and a lot of dust gets inside the cap) it can affect the contacts.

I really dont know how much it helps (I do it occasionally) but it takes about 30 seconds so it's no biggie if I am wasting my time. FWIW, I have seen the 'tech' in stang mags recommend the same thing, so it seems it should be a useful thing to do.

thanks were is it located, i cant find it near the dizzy!!!!
