Jet Hot Coat or Chrome my CAI

I'm putting together a CAI out of 3" aluminum tubing and I'm debating on how to finish it. I guess I have three options...

1. Hand Polish - Cheapest, most labor, good shine
2. Chrome Plate - Most expensive, no personal work involved, most shine
3. Jet Hot Coat - Affordable, no personal work involved, ??? shine

So how close is the shine of Jet Hot coating to chrome? Would Jet Hot help keep the incoming air cooler? Thoughts in general?

I have a Jet-Hot coated lower, Jet-Hot coated valve covers and polished upper. Take my advice, polish or chrome it, you'll be more satisfied. I'm satisfied with my lower being jet coated b/c it reduced visibility and just too many nooks and crannies for me to get polished. However, my valve covers are gonna need replacing. I'm not happy with them. My upper looks amazing polished out tho.

Yup, can't come close to chrome.

It's only a CAI, and most are chrome anyway, so it won't become too much of a heat problem for you. Since you're only talking about, there's only one way to go for ease.

I'd do what you think looks the best

The performance benefit gained from a CIA is drawing cool air
from outside the engine compartment as opposed to the much
higher temp air inside.

True, a metal pipe is gonna be hot to the touch
and
for the most part, the same temp as the engine compartment
HOWEVER
when the motor is at work and moving great amounts of air .....

The air is moving through the pipe at speeds so fast
it doesn't have time to pick up the heat

True

I think I'm going to chrome it then. I'll probably go to Frankford Plating in the city, but if anyone knows of any other good platers in the tri-state area I'd be interested in hearing about them.
