Is it true the JLT CAI makes the most Rwhp in a 2003 cobra?
Are there any close to it? How is the C&L Dry flow?
How much RWHP do these make? where is the cheapest place to buy them?

Oh onemore quick thing. Is the Carbon fiber JLT that much better then the ones ou can buy in different colors? thanks guys?

The K&N FIPK is the next highest rated CAI for the 2003 Cobra compared to the JLT (within 1 or 2 HP/TQ on average). The K&N unit is C.A.R.B. certified too which the JLT isn't, if that is something you need to consider. I don't believe there's a HP/TQ difference between the standard JLT and the carbon fiber model. Although the carbon fiber model is designed to let some of the strut tower braces fit whereas the standard JLT unit does not.

I know C&L makes a CAI, an inlet pipe, and even a MAF housing for the 03/04 Cobra, but I've never heard of a C&L Dry flow?

I see Jlt makes A few different applications for the 03. which one would be best. I'm never going to see 800 rwhp but i may see 600. which one is the safe bet? will ihurt performance by buying the wrong one?

No you won't hurt performance. Their in-fender CAI provides a HP or two over their RAI, but the CAI is a pain to install, inspect, and service IMO. Stick with the RAI.

I just put the JLT CAI on my '03 Cobra a few weeks ago. There is noticeable horsepower gains but it was a major pain putting it on. You have to take the right front wheel off. I tried doing it without taking the wheel off and wasted a ton of time. So if you get one, take the wheel off. I have a K&N on my '98 and am pleased with it too. It's easy access. The JLT is a little more expensive but the color match is perfect and worth the extra $$ IMO. You can clearly hear the air difference with the JLT b/c the tube is 4 inches in diameter. It would definitely be a pain to clean it - removing the wheel and plastic fender insert. You can purchase it direct at www.jlttruecoldair.com.

ordered Jlt cold air and pvc filter

I ordered the PVC filter with the cold air kit. Was this necessary? did I really need the filter?

PVC filter? You mean one of these?

If this is what you ordered and you are running stock boost levels it's not as beneficial as it would be for a higher boost Cobra. It's not going to hurt anything, but unless you're seeing a lot of oil in the intake path it's not really necessary.

from what ive read, either take the pass front wheel off and take the wheel well liner out or you could take front bumper off. either or should make it easier. also put a peice of velcro (the soft side) on it where it hits the strut tower cuz it will rub the paint off!!! cant go wrong with jlt.. good luck

I wish Jay would chime in...

Jay said he made more than anyone...I believe him. One story may say KN, one may say JLT. Look at the quality,

I have seen both. JLT looks better and for 1-2 hp....come on...looks over mass made poc. Jay hand makes his pieces.

Mine has a KN filter and I will never order another CAI other than JLT.

filter

Is the S&B filter it comes with worse than replacing it with a K&N?

I have had both....I think they are the same general concept.
