How do you seperate the clear plastic from the black part that divides all of the gauges up? It looks like its glued on. Heres a pic of what I'm talking about... Silver part surrounding the gauges.

you remove the two allen screws. then there are like 4 philips head screws. unhook some stuff and pull it out. then seperate the plastic by the clips i think. its been a while. i was just experimenting around a looooong time ago. i could be wrong

well I know you can help me with this RC... How do you get the clock out? Isnt it just a swift hit towards the windshield and its loose? Also... how do the door pods come out? Dont you need to take the things around the handles off and theres a screw back there or something? I havent done it in a year and I cant seem to get thoes handle things off to see if there is a screw behind it.

The clock lifts out..So does the door bezel. There are those plastic thingies with the metal that holds them into the holes. The door bezel should lift enough to access the wires by digging your fingers in the rear most part where the curve is and lifting...Problem is those plastic clips are old and they break easily..Mine broke off, and I have some double stick tape hold it down in that one spot.

Got the clock pod painted... I tried lifting the door pods out but they wouldnt budge. I could have swore there was a screw holding them on... Almost done with painting stuff though. Got my door pods left and teh gauge cluster if I can figure out how to seperate the two

Take off those brass looking screws around it and it should pop off.

I took those screws out but that just seperates the black and clear piece from the rest of the gauge cluster... I think the clear piece is glued on or something. I tried to pry it off but it started to crack so I stopped

Hey guys. I want to paint my door cup plastic pieces black (same color they already are but they are getting worn). What grits do I need to sand them with first and what paint do I use?
Thanks alot!

Just use a REALLY light scuffing with a 400 grit...do not apply any real pressure. Since you are going black, and those door handles are plastic, I would go with Krylon Black Fusion.

JR...When you mention painting the "cups" are you referring to the little piece that surrounds the handle, or the larger piece that you grab when you close the door, that houses the window switches?
Thanks
RC

As far as seperating the clear plastic from the black section that outlines the gauges. Yes, It's glued, or melted together, whichever. I used an exacto knife and a dremel tool to seperate them. After you paint the black part, you can just glue them back together. Just be very careful when you do this. if you use too much glue, it will cause the clear lens to cloud up around where you have glued it. Use as little glue as possible.

I need my 150+ shares of stock to reach $60 by the end of the year so I can get my new rims and give my tribars to zach when he comes down for towers!

there ya go RC, fixed it for ya

I got my door cups off, started sanding them then went out with a friend. I'll finish them tomorrow along with the gauge thing and post pictures of the final product To remove the door pods, pry out the very top first, then theres one pressure clip in the back... One of mine was broken off and the other one broke when I took the pod out... I dont think it'll matter
