just went to the local yard and saw a bunch of cars and trucks with either a 302 and 351's efi and carb.
im buying every thing i need to do the swap for my 4cyl. i got the 5 lug stuff and 3 18" bullit wheels of a v6 sn97 today for a 100 bucks.... wasnt expecting that lol
what are some good cars to pull a good block from? im buying alot of new upgraded parts for the motor and rebuilding it aswell but i want a decent starting point.
i found out the junkyard is ALOT cheaper here in florida than what i thought and they got alot of good stuff i can build a pretty decent ride with.

I'd try and snag a 5.0L out of a late model Explorer. They came with GT40P heads and a good intake. Swap the cam and valve springs and you'll have a pretty strong 302 for cheap.

ya intake is still on. its got a good bit of surface rust on it tho.
theres a nice 5.0 in a lincoln town car, i dont remember what year it was but the odometer was right under 25,000. the motor is super clean, sombody just side swiped it in the rear real bad.

Honestly, if I was building from scratch, I'd look into doing a 351. Don't know what your budget is, but its a MUCH better starting point than a 302.

thats what im really wanting to do its just the few i saw at the yard and the ones im finding on craigslist and stuff are pretty rough.

parts clean up real easy. stay away from anything out of lincoln unless its a MKVII. lincolns, mercurys, and crown vics had the Lo output motors, weak heads, and crappy pistons. go with the explorer motor. strip it down to the shortblock and get the heads/intake hot tanked. throw em back together. swap the cam for an HO cam and change the valve springs and you are ready to rock and roll.

Find a Mustang with a 302 motor and trans and get the whole thing with the harness and everything. You don't wanna mess with an F150 or E150 garbage, you'll prolly never get it running with that wiring. Get an actual Mustang.

I was at a pick and pull yard near tampa years ago with my cousin, I cannont remember the name of it, all I remember is there being a SVO 4 cyl car there and as I raised the hood some guy with a Jersey accent came out of nowhere screaming the f**king hood is mine!! The f**king hood is mine!! I still laugh thinking about that guy freaking out :rlaugh:

Parts were defintiely hella cheap compared to here in KY
