On my 87 gt the inner fender "splash guard's" were removed. I contacted the guy I bought it from and he said he took them out because the tires would scrape on it too much. It has been lowered 1.5". I was wondering if this will affect anything in the engine when it is raining? I have mac intake on it, not cai which sits in the fenderwell. Since it has no inner fender splash guards will anything in the engine be destroyed, my biggest concern is the air filter. It looks like there is nothing keeping moisture out of the engine. Would you suggest buying a set and putting them back on?

Yes, you should have them. Don't know that it would be what you are concerned with (got a K&N?) It mainly keeps crap from accumulating in your fenders, etc- but I don't know why your tires would rub even if they were huge. Mine don't, and I'm about 2" dropped in front. Make sure you get the right ones too, the '90+ fox's had bigger fender openings.
