just finished installing my GSS340 fuel pump. (255 lph hi-pressure).

i put a new fuel tank to filler seal. how far does the filler neck go in to the tank?

the reason i'm not sure if i have it in right is because i see those ridges on the filler neck and i think its supposed to be right up against the seal. even tho it doesnt seem possible

if you have pics that would be great.

thanks

ya thats what i thought. to keep the bracket in place.

i actually foregot to put the damn bracket in the first time i tried putting in the filler pipe. luckily i had a problem putting in the damn filler.

On a side note.... guese how much i paid for that filler neck seal?

$67 Canadian!!!!!!! mine was in two pieces when i took the old one out. so i needed it

you dont have to completely remove the tank, but you do have to lower it.

taking out the filler neck with the old seal was a little tough. putting it in the new seal was a pain. my brother was pushing the neck into the tank and i was pushing the fuel tank towards him.

lowering the tank isnt a problem. just put a jack with a 2x4 to support the tank and remove the 3 bolts holding the straps. remove the 3 8mm bolts under the gas cap. then remove the 4 bolts under the car holding the filler neck to the floor of the trunk. and then the 1 bolt from the filler neck bracket to gas tank. lower the tank a few inches and remove the filler neck with some struggle lol. lube up that new seal and filler tube with some petrolyum jelly and slide it in.
