I think most people just don't realize that there are two different types of import drivers: ricers and import racers. My brother and two friends have dsm's. They don't go around racing everything they can, instead keeping to themselves and when challenged step up. These people are completely different from the typical ricer. However we also have a bad stereotype as white trash because we drive Mustangs. This again is totally wrong in most cases. For example Laramie Wyoming the town I go to school in (Wyotech-the ads when horsepower tv is on) and the land of 10,000 mechanics there is this dude with a 93 fox body mustang. Now this is cool but I think he had been taken by the ricer stereotype because he mashes the throttle and passes half a mile of traffic and then flashes his hazards that he won some kind of race that nobody but him was involved in. This is one of those exceptions to the previously stated idea. There is also 3 supercharged Stangs out here plus another 30 and I never see them or myself doing stupid stuff like that. Setting that aside there are plenty of ricers up here. Yes they think thier cars are fast. Yes they talk ***** all day about Stangs. Yes they lose to a slightly moded Stang with 129,000 miles, 100lbs of stereo, and elevation. As a matter of fact this one ***hole up here with a stripped interior Integra thinks his car will beat mine hands down. He hasn't stepped up yet but sooner or later he will. To show how bad it is up here at the usual weekend street races a stock SHO Taurus has only been beaten once! Granted he never raced a Stang but he beat an old 350 Chevelle by 3 cars! It seems that everytime I mention my car it gets shot down but everytime we line em up they get shot down. Yet I have spent less than $300 on my car in maintance and mods. My brother keeps buying stuff for his turbo talon that runs half the time and yes his is faster when it runs but he also has about $4000 in it including a $2600 tranny. He keeps asking me when I'm gonna mod my car further and I tell him that it costs money to put in a 427 small block supercharged. So for now I keep kicking ass with a pretty stock car. Fun isn't it?
