got my cobra r hood today from ford racing for $430+49 shipping...the fit is amazing. Thank God I took you guy's advice and went with ford racing over nichi..The hood fits perfect, me and my friend put it on in like under 10 minutes and the alignment is like 95% on point. my body guy that will paint it will adjust it as need be so the latch works better. The mold is nice and the fiberglass was perfect. Just have one question, The hoodscoop at the top is suppose to have the slits in it right? its all filled in right now, will my bodyman have to cut holes to create the slits? Isnt that part of the hood scoop suppose to have the 4 air openings or am i wrong? wtf..The COWL IS also SEALED..NO OPENING..gggggggggrrr is this going to be easy for the bodyshop? i need a hole in the cowl and the vents cut up also..Do i need screens to seal up the vents once they are cut?

A guy up here with an awesome 99 Cobra vert had his vents cut out and screens installed. We were yakking about it...he said it was a lot of work...basically took the bodyshop longer to custom fabricate for the vents...then to do all the prep and paint for the entire hood.

Looks real sharp though...and it's all about the details isn't it? :nice:

if your car is daily driven, i woun't cut holes either. there was someone posting thread few weeks ago that he had some dmg to the engine. He had Saleen heat extracter hood, and water kept pouring in i guess

If I remember correctly his CAI was located directly below one of the vents and the water was going directly on the filter.

The factory Cobra R car does not have lame holes cut in its hood. It is a rear heat extractor and has a vent on the back. No need to screw up your brand new nice Cobra R hood.

MSRP is $525

i got mine fo $479..and thats shipping included. The cobra R has a vent in the back? which one? the little slit on the bottom? you guys are persuading me not to cut it. The nichi comes with it cut and I thought it look good. What about the the back of the hood where my wipers are, would it be lame to make a cut their also?

I wonder if the factory cobra r has the vents? anyways Niche performance has the same hood and the guy told me it fits 100% like fords hood..it has a functional heat extractor and comes with the slits open..it also comes with a piece to put under the hood if you dont want rain or other elements to get into the engine..so the slits will be there with a "protector"..im kinda wondering if i should of went with niche's good..but it would of been a extra 50..but whats 50 when your spending 500:p
