My friend and I just put a T-5 with a world class rebuild kit done to it in the stang yesterday. I lucked out because another friend had this one left over when his Cobra kit car burned in a garage fire. Any way he only wanted 400 for it and it only had about 1200 miles on the rebuild so in it went. Im going to keep saving for a stronger tranny, but at least I can drive my car now. If you want your car to feel faster than it is just dont drive it for a few months and when you get back to it your happy for a while. Anyhow so now Im glad I can drive the car, but Im not to sure of how hard I can get on it. I know eventually Ill give in, but I would like it to last through the winter. So did anyone else out there change the way they drive their cars after a major break down, and how long did it last till you were back to your old ways.

takes me a couple days and i calm down driving it.. i like gettin on it in second gear with tha 3.73s.. she down right flys in that gear.. eventually i just become a cruisin mode again.. lol

Im surprised it didnt get any heat damage from the fire. I've blown up 3 T-5's and everytime you get in it after you put one back in your gonna be tense about it. Before you know it you'll be flyin throught the gears and breakin another lol

the last one broke while I was in 3rd gear from a 2500-3000 rpm roll on. By about 4500 rpms or so I hear the nightmarish sound of metal grinding. The thing that kills me is that I wasn't really beating on it that time.

I have heard of a few doing that. Needless to say I am the kind of person that beats the piss out of the tranny (not so much on the street but the track Im bad) but have yet to have anything bad happen short of the second gear synchro going. Id say treat it nice for a while and save up for better parts.

Also to note, I have a stock 130K mile rear, stock T5, and soon to have all that and a stock Hyperutectic bottem end with 12 psi and maybe 400+ hp to the tire... Im wreckless!

Good luck with the upgrades. It was the last round of upgrades that I did that started busting everything. Untill then it felt like the car was indistructible.
