wuuzp guys! Well today i decided to take a break from work and visit the local j/y. I managed to pick up a few useful things...nothing dramatic though.
found:

New driverside fender/inside dirt-skirt (almost the same color)
molding/weather striping that outlines the window (the one that always cracks-breaks in the upper corner)
Some 5.0 exhuast hangers

Trying to get the body somewhere near straight...so i can either get a prep/paint or do the prep myself and have it painted.
Anyways, got home pulled off the fender i was gonna replace...which then snowballed into me pulling the front bumper off ...reason (long story)

Once upon a time before i owned this car, the owner got into a fender bender on the driverside. It messed up the front facia

and it also cracked/broke the fiberglass bumper under the facia, along with the headlight support/bracket.

Well the body shop did a crapp job of fixing it (before i got it still)..Instead of replacing things, they took SCREWS and SCREWED the fender to the front facia..marker light Never lined up, and the pen-stripe along with the finder itself never line up on the door body lines (infact it rubbed).
So , as you can see the snow ball became pretty good sized.

Luckily, i have a GT front facia i started preping for body shop a few months ago...has the headlight bracket along with the gt fiberglass bumper+fog light brackets. Anyways , looks like its the Gt front facia! man my car is gonna be so cool. Grey gt front bumper + 91-93 Red driverside fender + 87-90 Maroon body + Black GT wing/hatch....SWEET!

On a brighter note, my intercooler is more exsposed

Well today...atleast its hanging there. Man i wish i had money to get it painted...would look pretty sweet! After looking at it on there, it doenst look as "un-even" as i thought it would, due to not having the other pieces on.

Lookin Good! ... i know what it feels like ... my once perfect 91 ... is 4 different colours right now. Red, Black, Flat black, and bondo pink...lol Im putting together a nice long post with a bunch of pics, when everything is all said and done.

Oh ... and it's missing the spoiler on the hatch, and theres little pieces of green tape covering the holes, all the emblems are missing, and my ROH wheels, had to be replaced with a crappy set of 10 holes, with no centercaps.

that GT front end will look fine with the rest of the car being an LX, some people have their cars done that way.

got myself snowballed into a pretty good project... the 4 banger started making a banging noise one day so a couple days later I take it apart and one of the pistons has a skirt broke off. Well I can't put it back together like that so I decide to do a full overhaul since the thing was a POS. Also took out the tranny to disassemble it and see what makes it tick (that pissed my dad off even though my excuse was I wanted to clean it)

So I got the engine out of the car and figured, wel lI can fix that smashed in front fender while its out of comission. I tried to remove the fender but the damned nuts to the front cover are too siezed to attempt removal from that tiny space. So I just pulled the entire front bodywork off the car. Then you see all the rust on the front chassis and decide its in need of paint...

NOW... entire front of car is stripped down to the frame and k-member, rebuilt and painted 2.3L is waiting to go in, bumper cover has been patched up and drivers fender replaced and the blue oval is replaced with a pony emblem and headlights have been polished clear as glass, and new paint on it all.

gonna have to start a thread bout that.

Before I took it apart I built a complete exhaust system, pretty nice looking.

Also the POS electric radiator fan has been junked and a much nicer belt driven fan is in place.

Don't worry about paint, just pretend you're driving a Honda!

Also...nice shot of the irrigation system there

Ya, it feels ricerish to drive it unpainted, then again..its more sleeper than ricer right now ;o)

Ps: our irragation is pretty sweet, that arm is HUGE, self-powerd and fed by a well. The property is backed up next to the riverbottom...always plenty of water!

Maize opens Oct 1rst, probly be on CNN again this year.

Freakingtiger, ill trade you some sunshine for a model ;)

You live on a farm? Neat.

As for the trade I may be forced to take you up on that, I have to do my brakes, but it won't stop raining, and I don't want to pay to have them done.

no i dont live ona farm! I help run a corn maize yearly. This field belongs to a dairy man that goes to one of the churchs i belong to. Its a fun deal last a few months and pays great! Ill get some pictures as things come together.

It was easy...not exactly quality though! Pretty much the whole front square has to be cut out (leave the edges). The bottom corner's is the hardest places to get the cobra insert to fit. Depending on who cast your insert...it may or may not line up well. Mine didnt, i had to inch by inch remove material until the edges were able to *seat* in the cover itself. When i finish preping it, i may use some urathane patcher to fill the small gap in one corner. Or i might just leave it ;)

ps: i used two things to cut it, 1: makita with a diamond blade (basicly a pizza cutter on its side) 2: jig saw with a short blade.

Used the makita to start the corners and the jig saw to do the long cuts. Took about 20 mins to get it right :D
