My daughter tells me her old boy friend is coming over and has a little car trouble .
He bought a Saturn with 200k on it for 7 grand.
He pulls up...it about 10:30 at night..the mosquitos are insane.
But being the hardcore wrench that I am I go outside and I ask whats wrong with the car.
Ok Here it is....the only way he can get the car started is by jacking it up ,crawl all the way undr it from the front and stick a screw driver on the starter motor poles to hot wire it. He's been doing this for two weeks?!??!# "Did you eat paint chips when you were growing up?"
So I do a quick look at it ,fuses..bla bla bla...the mosquitos dive in like the Battle of Midway...I let him stay the night and and tell him I'll fix it in the morning
Next morning he jacks it up with the little chinese stamped out jack and procedes to get under the car...with out a jack stand....I am like ,number one rule ..always a jack stand ......so he explains to me how the car came off the jack earlier in the week and broke his tooth........I mean you have to crawkl all the way under this car to get to the starter motor..hes lucky he didint fricken die
Anyways after trouble shootin it looks like it must be the ignition switch which he didinot have money to fix so I put a push button starter on it for him. Changed his life. oh YA HE WAS HAPPY IT GOT GOOD GAS MILEAGE CAUSE HE WOULD LEAVE IT RUN WHILE HE WENT INTO A RESAURANT TO EAT.....:OT:

Good thing your daughter isn't dating him anymore. Your gene pool would be sure to stop there.

Key words here: OLD boy friend. LOL.... Glad he's ok. But think of it this way- How many kids today would be stranded forever and die in the desert before figuring out a way to get it started! There's sort of a silver lining there.

On the other hand he bought a $7k Saturn that has high miles. And I always pictured that the PO of the car showed him how to start it when he bought it, or someone showed him how to do it.

That kid is my hero...

He still talks to the ex, SPENDS THE NIGHT all while having the ex's father diagnose and fix his car. Wow he really took advantage of that situation.

BTW I hate freeloaders who use other people, just found this scenario funny. Next time I would avoid inviting the ex to spend the night and fixing the car. Usually a reason hes the ex...

He must have had someone show him how to jump it, old GM trick. Hope you didn't drill holes in that solid gold dash to mount the button (it must be gold to be worth that.)

I don't think of him as a freeloader, just a young guy needing a break. People helped me out when I was that age. Its tough today thinking what these kids see in the future with the way things are f--- up. We all did stupids things we wouldnt want to repeat.:SNSign:
